This newspaper photograph shows the scene inside the old Tain Academy grounds during the 1948 Tain Carnival when Lewis Fraser was Carnival Queen (see also picture #11). The gates of the academy can be seen in the background. The Heralds at the head of the procession are Archie Faulkner and wattie Louden.
