This pre-1969 (no sign of the new TRA) Air Ministry view of Tain, as seen directly from above, is looking to the NE. It clearly shows the town's main roads radiating west, south, south east and east - a pattern established in early times. From L to R - Morangie Road, Moss Road (formerly the Hill Road), Craighill Terrace (formerly the Quarry Road), Scotsburn Road, Hartfield Road (leading from Kingscauseway), the A9 and the road to Portmahomack. I couldnt figure out the photo at all, eventually got it it's the old Coronation park. (Graham is obviuosly referring to the large area of open space just to the left of the centre of the picture>)
