"Notwithstanding acts of Council
Various persons even of the lowest order…..
Keeping of swine which not only daily trespass upon the grass and corns of the inhabitants, but turn up the grass in the ground and the churchyard about the church….
Authorize the shooting and killing of all such swine ….
24 hours after publication of this act by tuck and drum….
Keepers fined £10 Scots….
Half to the informer….

Half a crown reward for each sow shot in or about the town…."
