King George V's Coronation DayThis picture showing a group of Councillors (in top hats) and General Woolcoombe is taken at the corner of the High Street and St Duthus Street. Part of the Royal Hotel can be seen on the RHS. The occasion was part of the celebrations for George V's Coronation.

The photo should be dated 1911 rather than 1910, as Coronation Day was 22 June 1911. Lieutenant General Sir Charles Louis Woollcombe KCB KCMG (1857–1934) was appointed General Officer Commanding the Highland Division in 1911.
