I am curious if your father is the same Donald Munro that my mother has spoken of and was actually was engaged to. She has told the story to my sister and I of a Donald George Munro..(and she mentioned he was known as DG)They were both from Tain and he was in the airforce I believe. Her name is Jane (Jean) Ross. They were engaged but it wasn't meant to be and she went on to meet my father who happened to be in the Royal Navy!

Hi Donna - yes, he is the "DG" who was once engaged to Jean!! He has often spoken of your mother, as has my Aunt Helen. Dad has just celebrated his 91st birthday and Helen will be 90 this year! Would love to hear more about your family.

That's wonderful. My Mom just had her 87th birthday. Sadly, my Dad passed away last year. Mom always speaks fondly of her memories of her younger years in Tain and has mentioned your Aunt Helen as well. Dad and Mom immigrated to Canada in the late 1950's, had my sister and I and made their life here. They were the only ones from each of their families to leave the UK. I was doing a little research into our family history and came across this website and was amazed to find your pictures. I will be sure to let Mom know. I am glad to hear your Dad and Aunt are well.
