This medal may possibly have been from the Sutherland based Pattison Cup, played for between Dornoch and Golspie, as there were actually three versions of the trophy presented in the Highlands by the infamous Pattison brothers in 1895, to be used for competition by local counties - one for Easter Ross that was presented to St. Duthus FC of Tain, another given to Dornoch to be played for in Sutherland, and the last was given to the Highland League to be played for between the Inverness based clubs, Clachnacuddin, Thistle and Caledonian.
