Included in Collections: Tain Silver

Object Description

Two silver forks marked "RW" "Tain" with a thistle and a sunburst mark on the back. On the front the words "In defence" with a hand holding a dagger aloft below and the letters "DSW" underneath. The forks came from Mr Denis Macdonald who thought that they might have originally come from Miss Rosa Ross\'s collection. These forks appear to be dessert forks from part of a set as described on page 53 in the book, "A Ballance of Silver".
