Object Description

British Army Seaforth Highlanders Volunteer Battalion Officer's Uniform, 1914-1918.

Seaforth Highlanders and Stags head and "L" on buttons. Elephant badge and letters "F" and Caberfeidh Badge. 2 badges on each side of the neckband. Twenty-nine decorated buttons, one plain button at the waistband. The tunic is red with cream on the neck and cuffs. Silver ribbon bordering the neck and cuffs. Silver braid on shoulder epaulettes and gold and blue wire buttons. Four double waist flaps, two at the front and two at the back. Two smaller single flaps at the centre waist back. The inner 2 flaps at the waist front have a small pocket in the flap. The neckband has a black lining with two hooks and eyes at the neck opening. The remainder of the tunic has a cream lining. Two brass belt clips at the waist.
