Year: 1960 | Included in Albums: Places

Photo Description

This pre-1969 (no sign of the new TRA) Air Ministry view of Tain, as seen directly from above, is looking to the NE. It clearly shows the town's main roads radiating west, south, south east and east - a pattern established in early times. From L to R - Morangie Road, Moss Road (formerly the Hill Road), Craighill Terrace (formerly the Quarry Road), Scotsburn Road, Hartfield Road (leading from Kingscauseway), the A9 and the road to Portmahomack.
