Gordon Mitchell
Hi there, both David and Gordon Mitchell in this photo were my uncles. I am the son of their younger brother Charlie. What a great picture, one I never knew existed until now. Thank you Gordon
Ernie Ross.
Hi Gordon, i may be wrong but i am sure that is your father Charlie next to Gordon in the front row.Your uncle David was older than this group of players. Regards, Ernie Ross.
Gordon Mitchell
Hi Ernie I think your are correct, it was the names above that threw me. Hopefully, they were as good footballers as they used to tell me!!!!! Thanks for the info. Regards Gordon
Ernie Ross.
Hi Gordon, Having played with your father Charlie and Gordon i can assure you they were both fine footballers as was your uncle David.I hope their skills passed on to you. Regards, Ernie.

Hi Gordon Ernie is absolutely right. That is definitely your Dad and Uncle Gordon in the 1947 team. It ties in with the ages I thought they were. If you get in touch with me I have a Mitchell family tree which you might be interested in and have had contact from distant relatives. Since I retired I have taken up genealogy as a hobby and spend many hours researching old Tain families. Best wishes Vi Symons nee Gardiner
